3DS- 3D without the glasses on a portable system?

Recently, an annual event called E3, was held in Los Angeles. This is one of the largest, if not largest, video game and electronics expo in the world. The spotlight is usually held by the top 3 game companies, Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony. Each of them demonstrated their new developments and announced new projects but one of the most interesting announced devices, in Nintendo's new 3DS (at the left). The 3DS is the next generation in the DS portable gaming system and is infamous for pioneering touch screen games.
Along with stunning crisp graphics and a new joystick, the 3DS's most distinct feature is it's 3 dimensional game play, and I mean the kind that pops out of the screen. Only press associates and game developers have seen the 3D in action but from all their responses, Nintendo has seemed to nail it in the first try again. You may ask that this seems a lousy idea because you would hate to carry around a pair of 3D glasses, but as the title of this article suggests, Nintendo has figured a way to see without the glasses and only use the combination of the two screens to create a 3D effect. Also, since most people see differently from one another, the system has a knob which controls the level of 3D and even allows the user to turn the effect completely off.
